Leota M. Spencer (nee: VanOrd) age 92, of Eden, New York died Sunday, November 6, 2016. She was born in Russell, PA on May 26, 1924. She was a daughter of the late William and Rose VanOrd; a wartime employee of Bell Aircraft before marrying her husband Donald W. Spencer in 1944. They were married for 65 years. She was a long time member of the Eden United Methodist Church, a member of the Eden Day Home Bureau, a 4-H Leader and volunteered for the Erie County Board of Elections as a Poll Clerk and also a proud volunteer for the American Red Cross. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was the wife of the late Donald W. Spencer, who died April 29, 2009 and the mother of Diana (George) Graovac, Betty Spencer, Barbara (Gregory Dusky) Tredo and Susan Spencer. She was the sister of Ruth Horner, late Paul, Herman, George, Fred, Leon and Orrie VanOrd; also the grandmother of Laura (Jon) LeBaron, Melanie (Chris) Perry, Adam (Aalya) Page, Alan Page, Spencer (Katie) Tredo, Natalie (Rory) Rinaldi, William (Holly) Tredo, Jeffrey Herring, Peter (Georgina) Herring and Michelle Herring. Great Grandmother of 15. A celebration of life will be held Wednesday, Nov. 9, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Eden United Methodist Church, 2820 E. Church St. Eden. Flowers gratefully declined.
