To the family of Joni Farkes: My husband, Julius Paar, was Joni's father's first cousin. Ervin's mother, Julia, was sister to my husband's mother, Vilma, in Hungary. Julius came to live with relatives in Lackawanna in 1957. I remember visiting Ervin and Betty many times when they lived in Hamburg and we also exchanged Christmas cards for many years. Julius died this January and I know he would have been sad to hear that Joni has died. Please accept my heartfelt condolences. Love and prayers, Rosemary Paar

Rosemary, this is Judy Farkes Ervin’s other daughter. I’m sorry I didn’t see this sooner. My niece pointed it out to me. I have many fond memories of you and Julius visiting us in Scranton. You would always bring your big genealogy books and share things with my parents. I am sorry to hear Julius has passed. I would love to speak with you on the phone I have lived in Oregon since 1976.
