Charles M. Rizzo “Chuck” age 77 of Eden, New York passed away suddenly on Monday, February 15, 2021. He was born on April 25, 1943 in Gowanda, New York. He was a son of the late Charles L and Grace (Compisi) Rizzo. Chuck was a United States Army Veteran. He served in the Vietnam War. Upon his honorable discharge from the service he was awarded a Bronze Star, the Air Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. Chuck was married to the former late Dolores (nee: Bowers) Chuck was a farmer at heart, having learned to drive a tractor at the young age of four; much to his mother’s chagrin. He enjoyed working the land of his vegetable and fruit farm for over 50 years until MS forced him to call it quits. He always took great pride in the quality of the fruits of his labors that he sold at market and for several years at his “Rizzo’s Roadside Stand” He leaves behind his son, Charles M. Rizzo II, his stepsons; Ronald Gier, Jr., Paul Gier and his stepdaughter, Jacqueline (Michael) Laing, his sisters Anna (William) Knack and Marian (Stanley) Pietrzak. He was a devoted and loving grandpa to Charles M. Rizzo III and Morgan Grace Rizzo and step – granddaughter, Payton Gier. Besides his wife, Chuck is predeceased by a step son Donald Gier. Family invites friends to call Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9PM at the Laing Funeral Home Inc., 2724 W. Church St. Eden. (Masks are required) followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday at 10AM in Immaculate Conception Church, Eden. Flowers gratefully declined.
