Obituary of Alan N. Parkin

Alan Nelson Parkin, 60 years old, born April 24, 1964, Eden, NY.
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of our beloved son, brother, uncle, and dear friend.

Alan (Al) Nelson Parkin was called home on April 15, 2025. Alan was born in Buffalo, NY at Mercy Hospital to Nancy (nee Tracy) Putney and the late Nelson Parkin. Al went to the Maryvale School System through the 10th grade, then transferred to Gowanda Central school where he later graduated in the top of his class in 1982. He was voted most likely to succeed in his senior year. He attended the University of Notre Dame for undergrad for pre-med. He soon realized this was not the discipline for him, and found his true calling in the legal field. Al completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Notre Dame and went on to graduate from the University of Buffalo Law School with a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. Al passed the law exam with his first attempt and has been practicing law in the Buffalo area for 30+ years. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, and serving as an Associate Pastor at BiblesCities Christian Fellowship, which gave him great peace in his life.

Alan is survived by his mother Nancy (and her companion Charles) of Eden; brother Gregory (Fran Mulla) of Eden; sister Judith Ciprich (Mark) of North Carolina; niece Jocelin Parkin, nephews William Parkin (Abigail) and Jonathon Ciprich, and a great niece and nephews.

The family would like to thank Al's friends Rob (Celeste) and Wanda, also Pastors Slyde and Susan Moran for their sincere friendship and support for Alan.

They would also like to extend their gratitude to the wonderful doctors and nurses at Roswell Park Hospital for their care during Alan's illness and for Hospice of Buffalo for his transition care at home. Memorial Donations may be made to Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, PO Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240, donate on-line or donate bycalling 716-845-4444.

The family will have a private celebration of life at a later date.  Words of sympathy may be left at: www.laingfuneralhome.com.
