Obituary of John P. Overhoff

John Paul Overhoff, age 75, of Boston, New York Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer on April 30, 2025 in the presence of loved ones.  John was born to Irvine and Dorothy Overhoff (Roza) on June 10, 1949.  He had two other brothers, Fred (deceased) and Jim, as well as a younger sister Mary (deceased).  John married the late Beverly Overhoff (Williams) on November 28, 1970.

He is survived by three beloved children, Scott (Kathleen) Overhoff, Lisa Rohauer, and Ryan.(Samantha) Overhoff, his seven beloved grandchildren: Johnathan, Samuel, and Joshua, Kayla, Matt, Brayden and Hailey.

His family expanded through the marriage of Janet (Neal) on September 9, 2017, John added to his family stepchildren Michael Thomann, Brent & Cheryl Thomann (Stanek), and Neal Thomann, along with numerous Step grandchildren.

John adored his family and was a wonderful provider.  He worked as a skilled union carpenter before joining Ford as welder repairman.  He was a member of the Navy Reserves and is a lifetime member of the Boston Valley Conservation Society.  John loved hunting, fishing, shooting sports, and became an avid coin collector.  John’s real love was his family and friends.  He will be sorely missed.

Friends and family may call from 4-8pm on Tuesday May 6 at the Laing Funeral Home, Inc.  A short graveside service will be held at St. Mary’s cemetery on Wednesday May 7^th at 1:00pm with a luncheon to follow.
