Obituary of Gerald Bruse Neifer

Gerald Bruse Neifer, “Jerry” “Bud” age 94 of Eden, New York died Tuesday, August 26, 2025 surrounded by his family.

He was born February 7, 1931 in Buffalo, New York to his parents the late William and Joan (nee: Bruse) Neifer.

Jerry retired from Ford Motor Company, Buffalo Stamping Plant. He also served on the Eden Town Board for 28 years as councilman. He was a long-time member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Knights of Columbus. Jerry was a member of the American Legion Post 880 as he served four years in the United States Air Force. He was a charter member of the Eden Emergency Squad. After his retirement from Ford, he remained active in the church, the community, and also volunteered at the Eden North Collins Food Pantry.

Jerry is the devoted husband of Bettyann (nee: Smith) Neifer and the late Elaine (nee: Odom) Neifer.

Loving father of Michelle (Bill) McLaughlin, Cindy (Dennis) Longbine, Beth (Tom) Gruzska, Stacey (Fred) Drmota and Jennifer (Dan) Carriero.

He was the grandfather of Adam (Brittany) Janicki, Alison McKenney, Ashley (Robert) Brehm, Cody Longbine, Jodi Maracle (Caleb Abrams), Eric (Corrine) Drmota, Megan Drmota, Danny, Maddie and Drew Carriero.

Great Grandfather of 15.

He was the brother of Bill (Peggy) Neifer and the late Donna Ginley, John Neifer and Nancy Jones.

No prior visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 5, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church, Eden.

Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to the Eden Community Foundation or Hospice of WNY.
