Obituary of James R. Vice

James R. Vice, age 68, of Eden, New York died January 5, 2026 in his home. He was born on November 21, 1957 to the late Gerald and Janet Vice.

He was the father of James W. and Joni Vice, the grandfather of Robert Forringer, brother of Jo Ellen (Jeffrey) Richards and the late Gerald Vice.

Also survived by a sister-in-law Lori and several nieces.

Jim had a love for music, he was an avid supporter of the arts in the schools. He had met a lot of musicians throughout his life and always regarded the creativity and spontaneous nature of the music industry.

Jim has been quoted to say “Not every kid is meant to be a worker.” A big part of his life was his love for nature, wilderness and the animals among us.

Family and friends are invited to call Monday, January 12, 2026  from 4-8pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY.  A service will be held at 7pm
