Obituary of Max E. Winter

Max E. Winter, age 89, of Eden, New York died Saturday, January 17, 2026. He was born in Williamsport, PA. The son of the late Harry and Ethel Winter.

Max was a life member of the Eden Fire Department, a member of the WNY Railroad Historical Society and the Niagara Frontier Live Steamer Club. He was a past chairman of the Hamburg Fair Antique Tractors Display and a long-time member of the Erie County Agricultural Society. Max could be seen at the round table with his friends at the Four Corners Café or  on Wednesdays at the Cherry Creek Auction.

Besides his parents, Max is preceded in death by his wife Muriel and his sister Lois Culp.

He is survived by his son, Paul E. (Lisa) Winter and daughter Jane M. Shears.

Also survived by his grandchildren Michael (Adelaide) Shears, Christopher (Emily Lorraine) Winter and Anna (Riley) Sessanna, and his great grandchildren, Hunter, Avery and Mia.

Family and friends are invited to a funeral service held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 at 11:00AM at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden.
