Obituary of Jeffrey M. Fuchs

Jeffrey M. Fuchs, 77, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2026. A transplant from Brooklyn, NY, Jeff lived in Eden for the past 21 years. Upon arriving in the area, Jeff attended the University of Buffalo School of Law and earned a Juris Doctor degree at the age of 59, after retiring from decades of teaching in NYC. His love of learning never stopped, and he could often be seen at the Eden Library walking out with a stack of books ranging from history to fiction to religion. In his retirement he spent countless hours researching his lineage and compiled an extensive family tree, including locating living relatives in foreign countries whom he had never met. He was a regular at the gym, keeping himself physically fit 5 days a week. Jeff never said "no" to giving a cat in need a home, and over the years he gave many cats their forever homes. Befriended by everyone he met, people naturally enjoyed talking with Jeff and often sought his advice and opinions.
Jeff is survived by his husband and partner of 26 years Michael Wichrowski, his sister Ronni's family, Wayne, Eric, and Emma Rothstein, and many close friends and cousins.
