Obituary of Michael S. Bolo

Michael Stephen Bolo (89) passed away into heaven at his home in Eden, NY on February 11, 2026. Mike was born November 18, 1936 in Phoenix, Arizona, the only child of Charles and Arreta Bolo. He earned a chemical engineering degree from both Northwestern University and University of Illinois. Mike worked for the DuPont Company for 33 years, living in Texas, West Virginia and New Jersey. He also worked in international sales and marketing for DuPont for many years.

Mike leaves behind his beloved wife Mary Jane Bolo and his children Scott Bolo, Gordon Robinson, Stephen Bolo and Mary Burr. Additionally, his grandchildren are Tyler, Zander and Nicola Bolo, as well as Mark, Paul, MacKenzie, Luke and John Burr.

After moved from New Jersey to Eden in 2000, Mike became involved in the economic development of the town of Eden, SCORE, and ECIDA. He ran his own sales and marketing company called Peak Performance. Mike’s motto was helping people and organizations become the best they could be.

Mike also ran Emblematic Company (seller of branch of service magnetic emblems) for many years.

Mike found his love of bluebirds, and through the Eden Conservation Board and started the annual bluebird nesting box workshop that continues to this day. Part of his vision was to have a nativity at the Bolo barn, which he narrated. Children and animals bring the story alive, and it continues every year before Christmas.

It is written that the Lord welcomes His believers into His heaven. Although we miss Mike greatly, we believe that the Lord has welcomed him home. Calling hours are Friday February 13th from 4-6pm with a memorial service following at Laing Funeral Home Inc, 2724 W. Church St Eden, NY.
