Donald J. Toland, age 65, of Eden, New York passed away peacefully after a lengthy battle with cancer, and with his loving companion, Kathy Roberts by his side on Friday, November 20, 2015. He was born in Buffalo, New York. He was a son of Hugh and Nellie (White) Toland. Don was the proud Owner of Don’s Auto Wrecking in Eden, New York for the past years. He was the loving companion of Kathy Roberts for 25 years. He will be remembered for his love of racing late model cars, Endurance Racing and the Erie County Demolition Derby; where he drove and later was a flagman. He had a special place in his heart for animals. He was known as a hard-working man, often working from sun up to sun down. Loving companion of Kathy Roberts. Father figure to Thomas (Michelle), Brian and Scott (Deena) Roberts. Brother of Beverly Boring and late Skip Toland. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family invites friend to call today from 3-5PM and Monday from 5-7PM at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY. A Celebration of life will be celebrated Monday at 7:15PM at the American Legion, 2912 Legion Dr. Eden, NY Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to SPCA or Hospice.
