Leroy "Buck" Harnick, Jr. April 12, 1926 - December 24, 2011 Leroy "Buck" Harnick passed away December 24, 2011 in his Hamburg home. Born in Buffalo, he was a graduate of East High School and attended Albright Art School. He was employed by Edwards Department Store, Bethlehem Steel Co., and several construction firms where he worked as a plasterer, finish carpenter and an acoustical tile hanger. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 289. Buck was an avid reader and gardener and a supporter of the arts. He was a founding member of the Valley Art Association as well as the Hamburg Centennial Art Center, of which he was a Lifetime Member. He was instrumental in refurbishing the Chamber of Commerce building and later the Little Red School House for use by the Centennial Art Center. He was predeceased by his wife, Harriet Rode Harnick and son, Paul Duncan Harnick. He is survived by his children, Linda (Martin) Remick, Christine Koch, Adrienne Harnick, Barbara (Steven) Germain and Pete (Barbara) Harnick as well as 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 AM on January 7th at Saints Peter and Paul Church, 66 East Main St, Hamburg, NY.
