Genevieve T. Herzog, 89, of Eden, New York died Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Mercy Hospital, Buffalo, New York. She was born October 17, 1922, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary (Kolacka) Guzinski.
Her loving family will remember her as a wonderful cook, especially her homemade soups. She enjoyed: walking, playing cards and bingo, trips to the casino, traveling throughout the United States as she took many trips alongside her son, Eugene. Religion and faith were a large part of her life. She also enjoyed music. She had the opportunity to see some of the performers on the Lawrence Welk Show perform at Melody Fair.
She loved to polka dance.
She was the devoted wife of late Eugene P. Herzog, the loving Mother of Eugene P. Herzog, Jr., Barbara (late Bruce) Bettinger, Ceil (Gary) Grobe, and Teri Anselmo.
Grandmother of Dawn, Nick, Phil, Autumn and Jackie.
Sister of Peter (Terri) Guzinski and 7 predeceased brothers and sisters.
Sister-in-law of Carolyn (Howard) Vail. Several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Friends may call from 2-4PM & 7-9PM on Monday, February 13, 2012 at Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception Church on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 at 10AM.
