Ruth Elizabeth Cline, 92, of Eden, New York, entered into rest Tuesday, June 5, 2012 in Buffalo, NY. She was born March 28, 1920, the daughter of late Frederick L. and Cora (Petrie) Finkbeiner.
She graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1943, working as a Registered Nurse during W.W. II. She married her beloved husband Donald D. Cline (nee:He) on December 15, 1943.
She was known as "Grannie" to all. She had a great sense of humor, evoking smile and laughter in her encounters with all those that knew her. She enjoyed spending time with her family, baking, canning, tending to her flowers and sewing. She enjoyed round and square dancing with her husband. She was a strong advocate for Peace.
Besides her parents she is predeceased by a son; David and three brothers; Frederick L., Jr., Clark P. and Harold E. Finkbeiner.
She is survived by her husband Donald, children; Bruce R. of Buffalo, NY, Steven A. (Audrey) of Dayton, NY, Linda (Tom) Benkelman of Eden, NY, ten grandchildren; Connie (Peter) Tambacas of Eden, NY, Ellen (Brent) Gregory of Parker, CO, Dan Cline of Buffalo, NY, Heather Cline of Rochester, NY, Jesse Cline of Webster, NY, Marcis (Kristin) Cline of Amherst, NY, Jeremy (Maureen) Cline of Buffalo, NY, Jenna Benkelman of Eden, Daniel Cline of Jersey City and Janine Benkelman of Eden. Also survived by seven Great-grandchildren; Christian, Emma, Jacob, Sam, Dan, Mariah, Joaquin and Xavier.
Friends invited to call Sunday, June 10, 2012 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden.
Funeral services will be held Monday, June 11, 2012 11AM at St. John's Community Church, Eden.
