Mildred Ruth (Kingsley) Brown
Born Monday September 12, 1927 first born child to Cathleen and William Kinglsey.
She attended Prince Edward Collegiate High School
She worked in a shoe store in Picton, Ontario long enough to know she want to do bigger and better things. As a young adult, she moved to Toronto where she worked at GE. She then moved to Hamilton, where she attended nursing school and worked with TB patients at the sanitarium.
Mother had a friend who set her up on a blind date that changed her life forever; she married our dad in September 1954 and moved to the United States. She continued working as a nurse until she had her first child. She was a stay at home mom for many years, raising her five children and numerous foster children. She returned to the work force and worked at the West Seneca Developmental Center until her retirement.
Mother enjoyed attending plays, gardening, and baking. Pies were her specialty. She also enjoyed watercolor painting, crocheting, and traveling. She traveled to Europe, Hawaii, and in recent years visited her daughter in Georgia. Spending time with her nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren brought her much joy during her retirement years.
