McLAUGHLIN-THORNTON - April Lea Age 32, of Nahunta, GA, April Lea and her infant son, Chase Alexander Kemp, 10 months old, both died Thursday, September 27, 2012, from injuries they received in an automobile accident. April was born in Gowanda, NY and was the daughter of Randy Lee McLaughlin and Rose Thornton Holliday. A member at the Southside Baptist Church in Nahunta, she loved making jewelry, singing and was a Nail Technician at Nails By April. She was preceded in death by her son Chase A. Kemp, maternal grandfather Redick Thornton and her paternal grandparents Judith Golden (Jim) and Lester McLaughlin. April is survived by two children Caleb Hein and Andrea McLaughlin, both of Nahunta, her parents Randy McLaughlin (Barbara) of Eden, NY, Rose Thornton Holliday (David) of Winter haven, FL, maternal grandmother Shirleen Thornton of Waynesville, GA, a brother David Hawkins (Christy) of Buffalo, NY, four sisters Jennifer Hope of Waynesville, Jeannie Parkinson (William) of Waynesville, Natasha Hawkins of New York and Mindy McDougal of North Carolina, a very special aunt Abba McLaughlin of derby, NY, also several other aunts, uncles and other relatives.Local memorial services for April and Chase will be announced. Interment was in the family plot at Mount Olive Cemetery in Waynesville. The family request donations be made to April's two other children.
