BROWN - Norman E. Of Eden, NY, November 30, 2012, devoted husband of late Mildred R. (nee Kingsley) June 10, 2012; loving father of Joyce Heinold, Frank (Darlene), David (Carolyn), Philip and Paul (Tracey) Brown; foster father of Mary (Steven) Rusin; brother of Lila Bennett, late Gerald, James and Walter Brown; grandfather of nine and great-grandfather of three. He was born in Calument, Quebec on December 1, 1923. Living in Quebec, he was very athletic. He was boxer, avid skier, big game hunter and fisherman. He worked in forestry and mining and after moving to Kimberly, British Columbia he continued to mine. He returned to Niagara Falls for his sister's wedding, and decided to stay in the Niagara area where he found work on the Canadian Power Project in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In 1954 on a blind date in Hamilton, Ontario, he met his future wife Mildred Kingsley. They married in 1954 then moved to the United States. After moving to the U.S he started working at Ford Motor Company in Woodlawn, NY. He retired in 1971 from Ford. He was a very generous and gratefulman; he gave money to his church, and to the less fortunate. He was always ready to help when he heard there was a need. He had a great sense of humor; he gave everyone a nick name, which only he could use. His motto was, "Never give up, Never ever give up." With his children by his bedside Norman entered into eternal rest. He fought to the very end. Memorials to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 4043 Maple Rd., Suite 105, Amherst, NY or Hospice Buffalo, PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY. Words of sympathy on www.LaingFuneralHome.com
