Robert E. Williams, age 70, of Eden, N.Y., died peacefully on July 30, 2013, at the home of his companion. He was a retired operating engineer. Bob was an avid car enthusiast and drag racer for more than 50 years and held an IHRA 9-second license. He won many events over the years at the Dunkirk airport, Niagara, Lowville, Lancaster and Leicester drag strips. A former pilot, Bob enjoyed the outdoors, westerns, early rock & roll and attending cruise nights with friends. His drive, love of life and incredible sense of humor will be missed by all who knew him. Bob was the loving companion of Elizabeth Castiglia; devoted father of Robert F. and Michael E. (Kerri) Williams; brother of Fredrick Williams, Sandra (Peter) Winiewicz, Charles (Karen) and William (Katrina) Williams; and grandfather of Dillon, Derek, Brent, Nathan and Rachel Williams.
Arrangements were entrusted to the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY.
