Charles M. Dalrymple, age 87, of Eden, New York died peacefully with his daughter by his side. He was born September 20, 1925 in Silver Creek, NY. He was the son of the late Erie and Hattie Dalrymple. Charles grew up on a large grape farm in Silver Creek. He had a special love for farming as he farmed when he could throughout his life. He worked for Paige-Harms Oil Company from 1949-1970, the worked for the Erie County Water Authority as the Senior Pump Operator from 1970-1980 He was the Eden Highway Superintendent in Eden, New York from 1980 until 1990. Charles served as an Eden Town Councilman in the early 1990's. He was a Life member of the Eden Fire Department serving as Fire Chief from 1968-1971 and was Eden Fire Department President from 1977-1979. He was a member of St. John's Community Church in Eden. Charles had a special love for antique tractors. He was a member of the Chautauqua County Steam Association. He was the devoted husband of late Rosemary A. (Abagnale) and companion of late Ida Potupjalenko. He was the loving Father of Bridget Benoit; Grandfather Shauna Greene and brother of late Donald and Jerry. Family invites friends to call Sunday, September 15, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W.
