Janet R. Scott (nee: Fierle), age 78, of Hamburg, NY, formerly of Eden, NY died Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in her home surrounded by her family.
She was born November 28, 1934, the daughter of late Arthur and Ivy Fierle. She retired from Frontier Central School system as an Accounting Clerk after 20 years of service. She was known for her enjoyment of baking and cooking for her family, with everyone having their own special dish that she would make for them, also her enjoyment of arts and crafts. She had a fond love for traveling. A few of her favorite past-times included casino slot machines and bingo.
Janet was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Windum Senior Center, Armor Senior Center, Hillcrest Senior Center and the Sacred Heart Senior Center.
She was the devoted wife of late George Scott, the loving mother of Michael (Dawn) Frew; Stepmother of Helen (Philip) Schreiner, Glenn and Lawrence (Kimberley) Scott.
Stepmother-in-law of Catrina Scott.
Grandmother of three grandsons and six granddaughters.
Sister of late Ronald Fierle. Sister-in-law of Leone Fierle.
Family invites friends to call Friday, September 27, 2013 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden.
Memorial service will be held Monday, September 30, 2013 at 1pm in the St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Eden. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church 3487 N. Boston Rd., Eden or Hospice Buffalo, PO Box 590, Buffalo, NY.
