Richard O. Brusehaber of Eden, a retired dairy farmer, died peacefully at home on Saturday, April 3, 2010. He was 86. Born in Eden on April 8, 1923, Richard grew up on his family's dairy farm on Bauer Road in Eden. He operated the farm for 36 years until his retirement in 1992. He was admired by his friends and family for his good-natured sense of humor and his dedication to the land he farmed. After his retirement, Richard enjoyed golfing and his weekly socializing with "The Breakfast Club" - brother-in-law Stirling (Stub) Muck and Walter and Earl Henry gathered at a different local diner every Wednesday morning. In addition to his loving wife Edith (nee Zittel), he is survived by five daughters, Ellyn (Phil) Charette, Joyce (Ken) Finnegan, Barbara (Ken) McMurray, Jane (late Frank) Weidner, and Susan (Jeffrey) Ferguson, son Roger (Kathleen), 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Richard was a dear brother of Dorothy Kracht, the late Alta Arlen, Jean Muck, Bernice Doyle, Rita Francisco and Marjorie Witte. Family and friends are invited to call at the Laing Funeral Home Inc, 2724 West Church Street in Eden on Tuesday, April 6 from 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday, April 7 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 8 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 3487 North Boston Road in Eden.
