Obituary of Michael S. Mitchell

Michael S. Mitchell, age 50, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, November 18, 2014. He was born on September 9, 1964 in Corry, PA. He was the son of Norman D. and late Judith E. Mitchell. He attended and graduated from Corry High School in 1983. Mike enlisted in the United States Air Force. Mike married his loving wife Karen M. Baginski on May 9, 1992 in St. John the Baptist Church in Boston, New York. Mike worked for the past 10 years as an Independent Sales Agent for MetLife Insurance Company. He also worked part time for Alliance Realty; a division of Alliance Homes and for Belmont Housing at the Eden and Boston locations. He was a past member of the Elgin Beaverdam Fire Department, Elgin, PA. Together alongside his wife, he enjoyed watching their children in their sporting events. He enjoyed football, golf and playing poker. He was a hunter and fisherman. Mike was known for his love of helping others. He was the beloved son of Norman (late Judith); the devoted husband of Karen M. (nee Baginski); the loving father of Ryan Dean and Taylor Joelle and the brother of Pam Hargraves and the late Randy Mitchell (Tina Mitchell). Also survived by 9 nieces and nephews; 1 great niece and 1 great nephew. The family invites friends to call Sunday, November 23, 2014 from 1-3PM and 5-7PM at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00AM Monday, November 24, 2014 at St. John the Baptist Church, 6895 Boston Cross, Boston, NY 14025. Flowers gratefully declined.
