Sophie S. Sikora (nee: Preneta), age 97, died Saturday, December 13, 2014 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Buffalo, New York on November 21, 1917. She was the daughter of late Andrew and Bertha Preneta. She married her loving husband William Sikora on July 25th, 1942. Sophie had a strong faith. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Church in Buffalo since her birth in 1917. Her family meant the world to her. She enjoyed her time spent watching her grandchildren grow. She always made time to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, along with the hockey games she kept up with. Sophie was an avid bird and garden watcher. Her favorite part of the day was the time shared around the breakfast table. She also enjoyed her quite time reading a good book. She was the devoted wife of late William; the loving mother of Boleslaw (Toni) Sikora, Arlene (late Jerry) Snyder and Shirley (Wayne) Hines; sister of Anna, Brownie, Mary, late Joe, Helen, Stephania and John; Grandmother of Cherie (Brian) Rohde; Bill (Kelly) Sikora; Marie (Matthew) Cummings; Tracy (Gregory) Karpers; Andrea Sikora; and Sara (Pat) Nash. Great grandmother of 13. Burial will be private held at St. Adalbert’s Cemetery, Lancaster, NY. A Memorial Mass will be held at a later date.
