David C. Wappman, age 78, of Hamburg, New York died Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Mercy Hospital. He was born January 13, 1937 in the Town of Hamburg. He was the son of the late Vincent and Catherine Wappman. He was a member of the Southtowns Walleye Association, the North Boston Fire Company and the Teamsters. He was a member of the Boston Valley Conservation Club. He started up the Pistol League. He was an owner/operator for Wappman Brother’s Trucking in Hamburg, NY for over 20 years. He also worked for Bethlehem Steel for over 10 years. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed NASCAR, from watching races on TV to attending the Daytona 500. He was the loving father of Sheryl (Douglas) Hage, Sandra (Kevin) Prentice, Stacy (William) Cox and Patricia (Kevin) Genson; a brother of Joseph (Theodora) and James (Linda) Wappman. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. Preceded in death by 2 grandsons, Jeremy and Christopher Krencik. Family invites friends to call from 7PM-9PM February 19, 2015 at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10AM February 21, 2015 in St. Peter and Paul Church, Hamburg. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Southtowns Walleye Assn. 5895 S.W. Blvd. Hamburg NY.
