Obituary of Dorothy M. Bentley

Dorothy M. Bentley, age 86, of Hamburg, New York died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Cecilia Smith. She was born September 12, 1928 in Buffalo, New York. Dorothy will be remembered for having a love for life and scotch. She especially enjoyed entertaining and hosting elaborate dinner parties. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church in Eden, New York. Dorothy started her career as the manager of the Café Rouge for 15 years at the Hotel Statler in Buffalo, NY. She was transferred to Denver, Colorado where she met her future husband, Felix Bentley. They later married in England. Together their careers took them to many different countries, eventually retiring and settling in Australia. After the death of her husband in 2000, Dorothy moved back home to Hamburg, New York to be with family. She was the loving sister of Ronald E. (late Anita) Smith, Kenneth C. (Louise) Smith, late Quentin P. and Richard J. Smith and is survived by several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends at Immaculate Conception Church of Eden on Monday, June 29, 2015 at 5:00PM immediately followed by a Funeral Mass at 6:00PM. All are invited to attend a dinner reception following the mass to celebrate the life of Dorothy. Flowers gratefully declined.
