Stefan S. Kaniewski "Steve" of Eden, NY died on July 28, 2010 at the age of 62.
He was born on December 26, 1947 to Zdzislaw and Marianna (Rozwodowska) Kaniewski in Germany. He came with his parents to the United States at the age of three and grew-up on the West Side of Buffalo, graduating from Grover Cleveland High School.
Steve served with the US Army in Vietnam from 1968 to 1970 and was awarded the Silver Star.
He married his loving wife Tona (Lumadue) in 1970. They had three children, Tona Ann (Bradley) Perkett, Denise (David) Kuster and Stefan Jr.
Steve retired from the Ford Stamping Plant in Woodlawn in 2007 after 39 years. He and Tona enjoyed traveling throughout the west the past six years, visiting many National Parks and sites. He loved to fish especially with his grandchildren in a pond he built and stocked on his farm in Pennsylvania.
Besides his wife and children, Steve is survived by his mother, Marianna, his grandchildren, Samantha, Charlize, Emily, Julia, Austin and Daniel, his brother John (Sharon Lee) and sister, Marianna Kaniewski, his nephew John (Margaret) Kaniewski and brother-in-law Max (Carol) Lumadue.
Visiting hours are on Friday, July 30 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM and on Saturday July 31 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. A service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday July 31 at 8:00 PM.
