I was so sorry to hear about Dean. I grew up with him at Eden Central. He was kind, smart and provocative intellectually.

I knew Dean through high school and at UB. He often gave me rides to UB when I was home for a weekend. It was a joy to know him - his laughter, kindness, and his poetry and writing. He was so thoughtful and will be sorely missed by so many. He spoke so proudly of his children and grandchildren. I know his health was very bad these last months and yet when I called him he always sounded hopeful. He is out of the earthly pain at this time and that gives some peace. It does not take away from missing him and I send peace and kindness to his children and grandchildren as you walk the journey of loss of someone so precious.

My sincerest condolences to your family. I met Dean my sophomore year at ECS, l had just moved to WNY. He was outstanding then and after graduating, had a stellar career in Erie County and WNY. Saw him at our 50th reunion in 2013. 4ebBt

I had the fortune of working with Dean, along with his good friend Rick Swist, when I was the general counsel of Steuben Foods. Dean was one of the most clear-eyed professionals that I have ever worked with and had a most incisive mind. in addition, he was a joy to be around with a sharp sense of humor. I know that he has struggled with his health, but he bore its burdens with great clarity and dignity. he often spoke of his strong feelings for his children. please accept my condolences on his passing.

Dean was one of the best and finest individuals I ever met in my 77 years.
I worked for Dean at the NFTA in the early '90's - it was an excellent relationship as he was a great, fair and straight-forward leader.
Very sad to learn of the passing of this great man.

I had the pleasure to work with Dean and also become his friend. He would always talk about his family with a gleam in his eye. His love of golf was unmatched. His stories were the best. He had the ultimate gift of gab. His is now in a better place with no problems or worries.
