Mary Jane Mulcahy (nee: Byrne) of Winchester, VA previously of Eden, NY, died peacefully January 18, 2017 after a long battle with Alzheimer’s. Mary Jane was born May 18, 1945 in Geneva, NY to the late Clair and Jane Byrne. She married her loving husband Gerald Mulcahy on June 3, 1967, and was the devoted mother of Kim (Douglas) Zittel, Gregory (Juliana) Mulcahy, and Beth (Alexander) Serio. Mary Jane was also the loving grandmother of Matthew and Andrew Zittel, Hannah and Grace Mulcahy, and Jack and Bella Serio. She is survived by her brother Clair “Dick” (Barbara) Byrne, and was predeceased by her parents and sister Margaret (Richard) Martin. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. The family invites friends to call Friday, January 27 from 5:00-8:00 pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc., 2724 W. Church St., Eden, NY 14057. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday, January 28 at 10:00 am at Immaculate Conception Church, 8791 S. Main St., Eden, NY 14057. A luncheon will immediately follow in the church hall. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org).
