Sharon A. Brockman, age 74, of Eden, New York died Sunday, August 12, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Sharon was born January 20, 1944; a daughter of the late Joseph and Irma Romano. She graduated from the Eden Central School District.

She was the owner of Brockman’s Greenhouse on route 62 in Eden for many years. She supplied Eden and surrounding areas with her beautiful home grown flowers and vegetables. She was very active in the Eden community as she was a NYS Board Certified Eden Town Assessor for 20 years. She was a 40 plus year member of the Eden Chamber of Commerce, where she served on the board and as a Past Vice President. She was also the Eden Garden Club Liaison for the chamber. She sat on the Scholarship, Chicken BBQ and Annual Membership committees. She was chosen the Eden Chamber Business of the year in 2011. She was a member of the Eden Garden Study Club; where she was the Treasurer for the last four years and was the Chairman of the club’s Horticultural Consultant Committee for over 10 years. She also was the Conservation & Environmental Protection Chairman. She also participated in the Eden Raider’s Response Day for the Chamber Park clean up and weekly maintenance. She helped plant the hanging baskets and pots that we see up and down Eden’s Main Street ever year. She was active in the Garden Therapy with the residents at Eden Heights. She entered the Erie County Fairs Horticulture Events at the Creative Arts Building and the Grange with her flowers and vegetables. She won many years with blue ribbons and several Horticultural Excellence Awards. Sharon was a parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church; where she was a member of the Alter and Rosary Society and a member of the Bereavement Committee, putting on many after funeral luncheons. Sharon also was involved as a 4-H leader for over 30 years. In her spare time she enjoyed her position as Past President of the Thursday Morning Early Morning Bowling Team and countless hours volunteering for the Eden-North Collins Food Pantry; along with processing all of the entries for the corn festival’s pet show, since its start.

She was the wife of late Butch Brockman, mother of Brenda Atkinson, sister of Kathy (Bill) Sanders, Joseph (Debbie) Romano and Debbie Carnall. Also survived by a sister in law, Rita (Don) Stuhr and generations of nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to call at the Laing Funeral Home Inc., on Wednesday from 7-9PM and Thursday from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10AM in the Immaculate Conception Church Eden, NY
