We were privileged to have met Gerry through our daughter....Sarah. He was a sweet, kind, funny, giving man. The day I called him to tell him that I was looking for a car, he did all he could to find one for me. The following night Gerry showed up at my place of employment with the car he thought would be perfect for me. It was so funny the way he did it, he pulled up by the door, called me saying he was outside with my new car. That's the kind of man he was. I hopped in and we went for a spin. The next day i was driving out of the lot by late afternoon. While we were in his office he was showing us his newest photos of his kids that he was so proud of.
He will be missed but always remembered by our family. He is that special person you WANT to always keep tucked away in your Heart.
So sorry to Gerry's family and friends to have to endure his sudden loss....he will always be in our prayers.

I wish I could have been there for you. You took great care of my parents. My mother said you hugged her, which meant a lot. I always loved stopping in just to say hello. I will miss you!

Just heard of Gerry's passing and was very surprised ,although I hadn't seen or spoken to him in many years I spent the first 7 years of my life living across the street from the Flynn family. All the kids of West Pleasant Avenue spent countless hours day after day being kids in a kinder more innocent era. I remember Gerry as a short pudgy kid with a big spirit , mischievous sense of humor and an infectious laugh.
2018 is a far cry from the long ago summers of the early 1980's and I'm thousands of miles from Eden New York but my thoughts and prayers go out to the Flynn family

Gerry came to work at Towne Hyundai shortly after we acquired the Hyundai franchise. Seems like 2001 or so. Young, full of life, fun, entertaining, helpful, and really talented. He was a very inquisitive young man. Wanted to know about everything how the auto business worked. He took to the car business with a tremendous amount of energy and ambition. He had the energy of a two year old and the enthusiasm of a professional athlete. A hand full at times, but well worth the effort. It didn’t take him long to ground himself and to become a part of the Towne automotive Group. Soon after Gerry becoming one of the top sales people of our group. He had this loveable personality that was a magnet to reluctant buyers who had come to the showroom with the normal amount of doubt and anxiety. People just felt comfortable in his hands.
But Gerry did have a driving competitive personality that made him a force to be reckoned with. If one got in his way he just mowed them down. So his success didn’t come without a degree of maintenance.
Over the years I spent many hours with Gerry trying to understand his driving personality. I really thought Gerry was being, well, “Gerry”. I watched Gerry get married, start a family, have kids, buy a house, advance his career. There were ups and downs, everyone had them but Gerry’s were more lasting and severe. But he always snapped back and was stronger than ever.
He was wonderful with his children, took up hobies, hunting, boating, an avid sports fan. He was the happiest guy in the world until that other side of his personality kicked in. I don’t think anyone knows why and how that happens. When it did everyone would coach, listen, and do our best to shake him out of it, and we always did. But it seemed to last longer and take a little of his wonderful side with him. Gerry had lots of friends, the ones I knew were coworkers at Towne. It was nice to see his friends having fun, pulling pranks on each other, and helping each other. Gerry loved to get a good laugh usually at one of his buddies expense. He especially liked picking on Catherine one of our business managers. He tortured her but she always got him back. All in good fun. I believe Gerry attended every leaders club awards trip since their inception, always the life of the party.
Gerry had a special relationship with his sisters and cousins. They watched out for Gerry, all wemon by the way, Sandy, Barbie, Demi, Jewell, Daniel, all working at Towne all awesome individuals. My hart goes out to all the Flynn’s. What a tragic loss.
In particular his Sister Barbie kept a close eye on Gerry and was always there for him either for encouragement or a good kick in the ass which she is very capable of.
The entire Town Family has been shaken by Gerry’s passing. I personally will miss Gerry as I felt he was part of my family. So that’s all I have to say.
A very sad R Anthony Daily.

I haven't had a chance to see Gerry in quite some time though always remember him having a huge heart...whether it being giving back a 50-50 he won at my stag party to the infectious smile he had while debating how the Bears were and usually better than the Bills...coincidentally they are playing this weekend. We had some great times together back in a day playing foosball at Paul's house, hanging out at a Blasz establishment, or a bonfire somewhere, etc. Thoughts and prayers with you, your family, and all of our friends back in Eden. RIP Gerry.

Although it’s been some time since I’ve seen Gerry, he is apart of so many of my adolescent memories. He got along with so many people, so many people who loved him so much. He was always so good at making us all laugh uncontrollably. His infectious smile will be what I’m sure many of us will remember the most. There are no words that will ease the pain for his children, his mother, his sisters, his nieces and nephews; but I will be praying a little bit harder for God to wrap you in his arms. My deepest condolences for such a big life lost way to soon. ❤️

A dear friend, a dear brother...I remember Sandy and I chasing this little boy around the neighborhood in his diaper! I remember his smile, his infectious laugh, his unbelievable warmth and kindness. May God give his family peace that surpasses all understanding. May he guard the hearts and minds of Gerry's children. I pray that Barbie, Sandy, Mama bear Barb, and all of his beautiful nieces and nephews have the strength to endure this incredibly difficult time. we love you all.
