Obituary of Mary E. Eckhardt

Mary Eunice Eckhardt , 90, of Greendale, Wisconsin, formerly of Eden, NY died Wednesday, November 17, 2010. She was born in Abilene, Virginia, the daughter of Hunter Grant and Mary Elizabeth (Pace) Nelson. She married her loving husband Henry Charles Eckhardt in Farmville, Virginia on December 28, 1938. Mr. Eckhardt preceded her in death on September 15, 1978. Mrs. Eckhardt was a graduate of Erie Community College in 1983 with an Associates in Arts degree-English and at State University of New York, College at Buffalo in 1986 with a Bachelors of Arts. She enjoyed flower gardening, following the NFL Bills and Packers, learning later in life at college, baking, and anything involving her offspring. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers and sisters; Herman Nelson, Amos Nelson, Marcus Nelson, T. Alton Nelson, David Nelson and Ruth Nelson. Surviving are her children; Joan (Richard) Ziehl, Gary (Sharon) Eckhardt, Marsha (Robert) Gifford, and Mark (Linda) Eckhardt; ten grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister Margaret (Nelson) Robertson. Family invites friends to call from 9:00AM to 11:00AM followed by an 11:00 AM service on Monday, November 22, 2010 at the Laing Funeral Home Inc 2724 W. Church Street, Eden, NY .
