Devoted husband of 27 years to Jean M. (nee: Gates)
Loving father of Richard J. (Tenaya) Banko, Jr. and Wendy (Paul) Walker.
Stepfather of Sheryl (Dr. Douglas) Hage, Sandy (Kevin) Prentice, Stacy (William) Cox and Trish (Kevin) Genson.
Also survived by a granddaughter.
Step grandfather of 13 including the late Christopher and Jeremy Krencik.
Step great grandfather of five.
Brother of Michael (Ginger) Banko, Linda (Richard) Trippi, Sandra (late Paul) Zrodlowski, late Stanley Banko, Jeanne Dinse, Lucy Benz, Rita Hodge and Betty O’Meara.
His passions included gardening, growing sweetcorn, golfing and traveling to Florida.
He proudly served in the US Navy during the Korean War.
He was a retired Sergeant after 32 years in law enforcement.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, May 1, 2021 at 10:30AM in SS. Peter and Paul's Church, 66 East Main Street. Hamburg, NY
