Angelo J. Latona, 85, a life long resident of Eden, NY died Monday, November 29, 2010. He was born on June 20, 1925, the son of the late Joseph and Ida (Bova) Latona. He married his loving wife Marilyn A. (Krebs) Latona on June 28, 1947 in North Collins, NY. They were married for 63 years.Mr. Latona proudly served his country, from 1943 to 1946 in the US Coast Guard. Mr. Latona was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Eden-North Collins Gun Club, Hamburg Gun Club, American Legion Newell-Faulkner Post 880, and VFW Memorial Post 8625. He enjoyed hunting, camping, and lived for gardening. He enjoyed basket ball as he had season tickets to the Braves, showing his enthusiasm for sports. Mr. Latona was also a member of the United Steel Workers of America. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. Besides his parents, Mr. Latona is preceded in death by a sister Louise (Leonard) Caputo. Surviving are his wife, four children; Elaine (Gordon) Suttell, Marilyn (Francis) Bowers, James A. Latona, and Kevin M (Cindy) Latona, eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Also surviving are his siblings; Vincent (Dolores) Latona , Josephine (Frank) DiChristopher, and several nieces and nephews. Family invites friends to call Thursday, December 2, 2010 from 2PM-4PM and 7PM-9PM at Laing Funeral Home Inc, 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 3, 2010 at 9:30AM in the Immaculate Conception Church, Eden, NY. Rev. Walter Grabowski will be celebrant.
