Shirley E. Hosier (nee: Johnson), age 83 of Jamestown, New York, went home to be with the Lord Friday, July 2, 2021 surrounded by her family in her residence following a brief illness. She was born on November 17, 1937 in Union City, PA. She was a daughter of the late Harry B. and Gertrude E. (Fisher) Johnson She married her late husband, Raymond D. Hosier Feb. 9, 1957 in Blockville, NY. Family was Shirley’s life. She would do anything for any of her family members, especially her grandchildren. She was known as a kind and gentle soul and for having a warm heart. She always had a twinkle in her eye and a smile that would warm any winter day. She was very talented in decorating, arts and crafts and creating beauty everywhere you looked. She was an avid reader and in her spare time liked to do some occasional shopping. Shirley is survived by three sons: William W. (Laura)., Douglas R. (Tammy), and Jeffery A. (Amy) Hosier; two daughters: Denise L. Ransom and Lisa D. (Don) Silva; fourteen grandchildren: Nicholas Hosier, Tara, Derek, Kyle, Courtney Hosier, Jacob, Jeremiah, and Harley Ransom, , Stephanie (Ryan) Gibbs, Jessica (George Thellman) Delahoy, Ashley (Cody) Gould, and Franklin (Angel) Matteson, Candice and David Silva ; Also survived by 7 Great Grandchildren; three brothers; Stanley (Phyllis) Johnson, Russell (Teresa) Johnson and Gene (Jane) Johnson; two sisters, Arloween (late Robert) Parsons and Joyce (Glenn) Zeltman. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Raymond D. Hosier, Jr. (Aug. 7, 2005), a granddaughter; Lindsey M. Hosier, a grandson; Shayne C. Matteson, 3 brothers; John (late Denise) Johnson, Paul (Donna) Johnson and Richard (late Marsha) Johnson and one sister; Dorothy (Bruce) Kelly. To follow Shirley’s wishes no visitation will be observed and a Celebration of life will held at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be made to Chautauqua Hospice, 20 W Fairmount Ave, Lakewood, NY 14750. Arrangements entrusted to her nephew Gabriel G. Johnson with the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W.
