It is with profound sadness that the family of Rebecca F. Barton announce her passing on December 12, 2021, at the age of 40. She will lovingly be remembered by her daughter Naomi, father; Douglas Blood, mother; Kathleen Blood, brother; John (Annette Novelli) Blood, uncle; Daniel Blood, aunt; Sue Kovacs, uncle Laszlo Kovacs; mother-in-law; Tina Barton, father-in-law; Jeff Barton, brother-in-law; Neal (Melissa) Barton, brother-in-law; Eric (Christy) Barton, as well as cherished relatives and friends. She was preceded by her husband Zachary Barton. Following her graduation from Eden Central schools she attended Alfred University for 2 1/2 years on an academic scholarship. During her attendance she was a member of the Alfred swim team, and became an EMT. She also excelled at learning to play the piano and was recognized on the national deans list. She later enrolled at SUNY Fredonia where she was currently a junior at the time of her passing. Becky was a member of the Hamburg Presbyterian Church. She was known as a caring and selfless person. She was a great mother, daughter, sister, and friend. Family and friends are invited to call Friday, December 17, 2021 from 5pm-8pm at the Laing Funeral Home Inc, 2724 W. Church St Eden, NY. This will be followed by a memorial service Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 11am in the Hamburg Presbyterian Church, 177 Main St. Hamburg, NY. Memorials may be made in memory of Becky to the National Alliance of Mental Illness at www.NAMI.org. Words of sympathy may be left on www.LaingFuneralHome.com
