Albert L. Schaefer 95 of Hamburg New York, formerly of Eden, NY died Sunday, March 13, 2011. He was born February 3, 1916, the son of the late John and Bertha Schaefer.
He belonged to the Teamsters, enjoyed reading, and loved listening to Big Band Music.
He and his loving wife Ruth M. (nee: Gibson) Schaefer lived in Eden, New York until Ruth's death on February 20, 1999. Soon after that Albert moved to Hamburg, New York to live in Creek Bend Heights.
He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children; Albert (Linda) Schaefer, Brian (Nancy) Schaefer, Dorothy Moser, John (Julie) Schaefer, Linda Schaefer, and Ruth (Chuck) Mohr ; his 18 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren; 1 brother Phil (Emmy) Schaefer, and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Ruth, 2 brothers; Charles and Howard Schaefer, and a sister Katherine Hodges.
Family and friends are invited to call at the Laing Funeral Home Inc. 2724 W. Church St. Eden, NY on Tuesday, March15, 2011 from 2PM-4PM and 7PM to 9PM.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 10:00AM in the funeral home.
Hospice Chaplain Jeff Sturmer will officiate.
