We shall miss you Ellie so very much but
know that you are at peace. We had so
many years of fun and laughter doing
crazy things. The many pool parties at
the last minute always were fun.
To Jack and your family we send all our
love and blessings.
God be with you all.

Our deepest sympathy to you and the family, Jack, on the loss of Mary Ellen. I enjoyed many years sharing Eden classes and friendship with her--she was a wonderful gal. It is interesting that you live in Brunswick, GA! Marge and I for 20+ years have driven past there on I-95, going to and from our winter escape in FL about 5 mi. S of West Palm. And 4 years ago or so a couple named Craig and Mary Farnsworth (he a funeral director, she a H.S. science teacher) who lived in nearby North Rose and have been close friends since we moved to Wolcott in 1952-----they sold their home, business, took their catamaran sailboat and moved to Brunswick. For 30 years up here in NYS I kept my Cessna 150 at his airstrip (3 mi. from our house), as he had a fast, Piper retractable. Marge and I send our warmest thoughts and prayers to you all. --Don & Marge Hunt, Wolcott, NY.

Ellen was 1949 Valedictorian! Under her photo in EMBERS was: "You mean I have a choice?". She was Editor-in-chief of the Embers, had a great part in our Senior Play: "Everything Happens to US"; President of the '49 National Honor Society; author of "Ellen's timely editorials" published in the "Tower"
every month with Jack Smith's ironic sports reviews. She was at the '49 60th. Class reunion Sat. 18 July 2009
at Duffy Hall. Now, she is HOME!

To Jack and Family,
We wish were able to attend the Mass for Ellen, but will continue to pray for her Heavenly Intensions. Ellen was truly one of Eden's most gracious lady and always a fine hostess whenever we meet with her and Jack in Eden and Jekyll Island. We also will continue to pray for Jack and his family during their time of grievement.

I was embraced by the Smith family when I was in high school. I began as their babysitter, but soon felt embraced as one of the family. Mrs. Smith gifted me with great examples of being a good mother and wife. Now she is home, probably having a great chat with Mother, catching up soul to soul. My prayers go out to you and the family, Mr. Smith. God bless you.
