Our thoughts and prayers go out to Dave's family. Dave and I both went to Hamburg High, though Dave was a couple years ahead of me. Later, we worked together at the infamous "Hill" project where I had the pleasure of getting to know Dave and his Father and to be able to call them true friends. Dave and I have stayed in contact over the years and I have watched his heroic battle. We are all better for knowing Dave. He was truly a special friend, husband, father and grandfather. God Bless You Dave.

Officer Hock and I had spent many patrol hours together for many years. Early on I knew he would be a trusted partner and that he would always be around the corner to give me a hand in any arrest or investigation. I was lucky to have him in the patrol area. He had been a great friend to many of the area troopers and will be sadly missed. He liked to share stories of his family; who had definitely made his life wonderful. He had been a proud husband and father; and he knew he was blessed to have a great wife. He had been a son who never disappointed his father. I had always complimented him on his diligence and loyalty to those in his circle. I will miss him and I will try to live my life with a bit more kindness here and there. Dave was a kind, polite, and caring fellow officer.

Dear Linda and Family,
We were so saddened to hear of Dave's passing this weekend. Dave's battle with cancer over the last few years was a hard fought battle for sure. As I remember Dave from my time working with he and his Dad at the ECF, he was a "tough cookie" would have fought this battle right until the end. May God Bless him.
You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. We extend to you our deep and sincere sympathy for the loss of your dear husband, wonderful father, and awesome grandfather. We pray for peace and comfort, to each of you, as you work through this sadness and grief.
With our deepest sympathy,
Linda & Mike Connors

Dear Linda, David, Ebie and family,
Words can not express our sadness to hear of Dave's passing. What a wonderful and courageous man. He was a gentle giant; always willing to give of his time, or his physical strength, to help family, friends or community, when they needed an extra hand -- and always with a smile. He will be greatly missed.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
May God Bless,
Love Jane, Tim, Katherine and Lauren

I knew Dave for several years and I was grateful when he stopped by my room at Roswell after I had my colon surgery and he spent the time before he was released that day to come and see me and to encourage me to do all I can to beat my cancer.
