Obituary of William R. Erdley

William Robert "Bill" Erdley - May 23, 1934- September 12, 2016. Born and raised in Colver, PA, Bill moved to Western New York, after serving in the Navy during the Korean War. Married to Sally (Hill) Erdley, for the past 60 years, they were longtime residents of Eden raising 3 children, and enjoying 4 grandchildren. Bill was active in local theatre groups such as the Hamburg Little Theatre starring in and directing multiple productions there. However, he was best known in the Aurora Players, for making the role of Don Quixote in Man Of La Mancha, his own. Bill retired from Ford after 37 years as an electrician at the Woodlawn Stamping Plant. Bill was a lifelong member of the North Collins Wesleyan Church, serving as a deacon on and off and bringing strong leadership and a recognizable rich bass voice to the Worship Team and solo performances. Bill was a standing member of the Oddfellows, Chapter 187. He is survived by his wife Sally, children Dr. W. Scott (Kathleen) Erdley, Heather (Eric) Ohmit and Melissa (Warren) Rockwell III, grandchildren Lindsey (Bill) Love, Nathan Ohmit, Grace Ohmit and Henry Ohmit. His sister Margaret Cochran resides in Pittsburgh, PA and brother Howard Erdley resides in Carlton, PA. He is survived by a multitude of nieces and nephews throughout the United States. Bill was predeceased by his parents, Willard and Lilly, sister Betty, brothers Don, Jim and Ralph. Church St., Eden, NY on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 4PM to 8PM.
