John, Jimmy, & Carolyn,
it is approaching 3 months since your dad was laid to rest. I have had his picture near my workstation since then. I want to share my condolences, even now, as I know the loss is still felt.
Memories are lasting, so I share my memories so you have yet another opportunity to reminisce about the fine and loving qualities in your dad (and mom). Their influence in helping people, not only the sick, but also the staff, was far-reaching and deep.
I was a young professional when I was asked to be the consultant OT at the nursing home. Your parents helped me grow as I helped them deliver quality OT services; they had faith in me and I in them. They were an inspiration to me as I witnessed their desire for quality care and honest/fair practice.This had an impact on my career.
Also, I became a new mom when I worked for them and they modeled the priorities of family and love as well as the balance of work and play.
I am sure you all know and experienced their lessons in love but isn't it so lovely, especially in those moments when you sadly miss them, that your love for them is celebrated through the words of another person. I hope you are all well.
