Goodbye Gerald, you are appreciated and admired by this Philadelphian. I was lucky enough to do business with you and Janet. You are what people think about when they think of hardworking AMERICANS, you were a gentleman, a hardworking dedicated husband. You accomplished more than most men can in 2 lifetimes. You deserve to be recognized celebrated respected admired and more. My only regret is I hooked into you later in life, I am so proud to say my wife Barbara and I had lunch with you and Janet, May you Rest in peace in the big sky my man.
Below is a poem by Rudyard Kipling, it actually speaks to who you were:
Gold is for the mistress
Silver for the Maid
Copper for the craftsman --Cunning in his trade
Good said the Baron sitting in his hall
But Iron Cold Iron is the Master of them All
-Gerald you were a MASTER
RIP Mike Rogers and the whole Gang at Allied Steel Bala Cynwyd pa

Wow I just found out about his passing, He had a huge impact on my life and career. I was interviewed in the Summer of 1977 in a Restaurant near Hornell NY and we met one more time along a highway at a road crossing close by later that summer. I was hired on starting 9/1/77 and even after he retired our paths would cross out on jobs. He was a lesson in humility . I don't think I know anyone that worked harder than him except for Janet. I always enjoyed being around him and will be forever grateful for having him in my life. He gave me a chance more than once to do the work that I came to love. My prayers are with Janet and the family.
Love
